Perspective View: It can make your day. Can it change your life?

You have a perspective and so do I. Our perspective view on a subject or matter might not be the same and that’s why we have a perspective.

What is perspective?

“A particular attitude towards or way of regarding something; a point of view.” Or to put it more simply, “You see it your way, I see it mine”.

A perspective view has more depth to it. Here is a definition “It is a view of a three-dimensional image that portrays height, width, and depth for a more realistic image or graphic”.

Perspective View

When I take a perspective view of a particular behaviour and we’re discussing it, you and I may well have vastly different ways of looking at it. For example, I was talking to friends the other day about a high achieving client and what she’s doing. My ‘Very Psychic‘ friend said “This is not right for her, she needs to stop”. A little later another friend picked up the same intuitive vibe as my first friend and voiced her similar opinion.Perspective View

Who’s job is it?

Both friends indicated to me that it’s my job and up to me to set my client straight. When I thought about it, I had to disagree. I have a different perspective view on the matter. All I could do is observe what my client was doing and not judge her. I’m helping my client through personal development coaching. My job as her coach is to get her to examine her own decisions and why she’s doing what she’s doing. A few days ago I found out I was on the right track because I can see my client is succeeding in what she’s trying to achieve. She’s also finding out a few things about herself.

Now I have another example. You would agree that as you age, injuries and illnesses become more intense and take longer to heal. Right? It’s unclear  where this idea came from. You agree with the idea but you’ve never thought into where you got this perspective from, have you? Your answer would be that drew this as an assumption from the general society view, from the medical fraternity or the press.

Making an assumption can set us on a backward path

Personally, I don’t believe in the assumption that as I get older I’ll get sicker, heal slower and any pain I do get will become more intense. For me this assumption is a myth because I live outside that box. I have a different perspective and I prove my assumption about myself to be correct almost every day.

Whenever I talk to someone I examine my perspective on what they are saying as I did with my friends above. When these people become clients my perspective view becomes even more critical and I never judge.

This outside-the-box way of perceiving started with me examining myself. I don’t believe the above statements about how quickly we heal and the intensity of pain are correct because I’ve proved this many times with sickness and injury. I’ve also seen it in others who have cured themselves of chronic diseases.

If you have a different perspective view on a particular thing than I do, that’s great. Believe in your view and make it your fantastic life.
